Energy efficiency is the key to a greener home as well as a high performance home. For years, the REMC has hosted new home meetings to promote building techniques that support a home with low heating and cooling costs and a high level of comfort. Throughout the years, the REMC’s Bob Geswein has instructed hundreds of members and builders on ways to build an energy tight home. Geswein has conducted these meetings for Clark County REMC and Harrison REMC in Corydon.

Geswein also conducts meetings for a group of energy professionals that have formed an association named The Energy Pros. Builders and members alike have attended these meetings held in Louisville. Now, Clark County REMC and The Energy Pros are teaming together to bring the very best building advice to REMC members and our community. These High Performance Home Seminars replace our New Home Meetings previously scheduled.

Clark County REMC has promoted the Touchstone Energy Home program as well as Energy Star homes for the past several years and partnering with the Energy Pros seems to be the perfect combination to take our new home program to the next level of providing sound energy advice. The building techniques used by the Energy Pros follow those used for a Touchstone Energy Home and a Five Star Energy Home.
Our only goal is to educate, and we recognize that the most cost effective way to lower carbon emissions is to be energy efficient. The seminars will have information for consumers who have no building knowledge but want their homes to be as energy-efficient as possible.
