Other Payment Methods

By Phone
Use the REMC’s 24 hour account inquiry/payment by phone service any time of the day or night. Call 812/248-7549 or 877/484-4042 to inquire about your account or to make payment by check or credit card. The REMC accepts Visa and Master Card.

By Mail
The REMC provides return envelopes for payments to be returned. Payments are delivered to a post office box and our bank processes the payments. This process allows payments to be posted to your account immediately upon receiving.

Auto Pay
Let Auto Pay take the worry out of paying your monthly bill through automatic withdrawal from your checking account. This payment service makes remembering due dates or paying late fees a thing of the past. Signing up is easy. Complete the form below and return it, along with a voided check, to the REMC.

Automatic Payment Form

Drive through window
Open daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for those people that move in the fast lane and like the convenience of paying from your car. With our headquarters located right off Interstate 65, there are many folks that use this convenience.

Night depository
Drop off your payment after hours and leave it in the night depository located by the drive through window. Remember to enclose the return portion of your bill and please, no cash.

Due date extension
If the due date on your bill falls before your monthly social security check arrives, due date extension can help by deferring your bill amount until after your social security or retirement check arrives. Payment is deferred until the seventh day of the month without a late charge.

Budget billing
If you want to equalize your monthly bill, budget billing can help. Billing amounts are determined by averaging the previous twelve months electric usage with the current month. Budget amounts vary slightly each month to compensate for different usage levels. You can begin or end the budget billing program at any time just by calling our office.

Third party notification
Whatever the situation may be, the REMC offers third party notification. Enrolled members can have a reminder notice of an unpaid bill sent to a different address to prevent any unnecessary disconnection. A relative, friend, neighbor or clergy are all good participants of third party notification.

Energy assistance program
Every year, the REMC works closely with community action agencies and township trustees to obtain assistance for our members having difficulty paying their electric bills. EAP is a low income energy assistance program made available through the Indiana Division of Family and Children.

Critical account watch
Members who depend on electricity for respirators, oxygen machines, etc., can be placed on our critical account watch. You will be asked to provide a medical statement stating what your needs may be. The REMC will keep a special watch out for your account making sure it's not disconnected. However, there may be circumstances that are unavoidable.

Seasonal bill forwarding
For our snowbirds who head south for the winter months or other seasonal travelers, the REMC will forward your monthly bill to the address you provide. No need to worry about missing a payment or paying late fees. Contact our office with your forwarding address.

Credit Card payments
The REMC accepts both Mastercard and Visa.
