Calendar Art Contest
Indiana's electric cooperatives and their statewide magazine, Electric Consumer, invited students to enter the 2018 art contest. Winning artwork from Indiana K-12 students will illustrate the 2018 Cooperative Calendar of Student Art.
This year, from our community, the first grade winner is Elisa Jones (pictured to the right) of Charlestown. She is the daughter of James and Alice Jones. Interestingly, her sisters, Melodia and Precious, are past winners as well. Melodia won her grade division for the 2013 and 2015 calendars. This is a very talented family. Congratulations Elisa!
The 9th grade winner is Evan Olinger (pictured to the right) of Sellersburg. He is the son of Scott and Andrea Olinger. Evan is a 9th grade student at Silver Creek High School. Beginning in 2015, Evan's artwork has won the student art contest four consectutive years, an accomplishment matched by only one other student in the program's 20 year history. Last year there was a feature story on Evan in the May issue of Electric Consumer magazine. He is quite a talented young man. Congratulations Evan!
Both artists will be feature in the 2018 Cooperative Calendar of Student Art. Elisa's artwork will illustrate the month of January and Evan's artwork will illustrate the month of September. Calendars will be available in the beginning of 2018 in the office.
Stay tuned the end of this year to enter for the 2019 calendar.
