Calendar Art Contest
Indiana's electric cooperatives and their statewide magazine, Electric Consumer, invite students to enter the 2018 art contest. Winning artwork from Indiana K-12 students will illustrate the 2018 Cooperative Calendar of Student Art.
Each year, 13 first-place winners and nine honorable mention winners have their artwork featured in the calendar and receive cash prizes. Students will be asked to match their grade level during the 2016-2017 (current) school year and illustrate the month that coincides numerically (ie: first graders have January; second graders have February, and so on through 12th graders who have December). Kindergartners illustrate the cover of the calendar which can be almost anything that tickles their young artistic fancy. Themes need to be related to the month, such as the weather, holidays during that month, famous events or activities that took place or take place annually during the month, famous people associated with the month, or landscapes that fit the season.
While no "Indiana" specific relation is necessary this coming contest (unlike the 2016 calendar contest that focuses on Indiana's bicentennial), as Hoosiers we all love the past winners who found a way to make the Indiana cooperative calendar a unique celebration of Indiana students and our Indiana home.
Good luck to all entrants. The contest deadline is March 24, 2017.
