Do you know a student who would enjoy spending the day at the Indiana Statehouse and getting an inside look at state government?
Make sure he/she knows about this program!
Indiana's 38 electric cooperatives are accepting applications from high school students for the Indiana Electric Cooperative Page Day program. The Electric Cooperative Page Days are held in Indianapolis at the Indiana Statehouse. Page Day is an interactive, educational experience that allows students the opportunity to learn about the daily activities that take place in the statehouse during the legislative session.
Electric Cooperative Page Day is Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
Highlights include a Statehouse tour, mock bill activity, speakers and other educational activities. Students may have the opportunity to see the Indiana Legislature in action and meet state legislators. This program will be held in the Senate. Students who have an interest in participating should apply by visiting the IEC's Page Day webpage.
All applicants must be high school students and have adequate transportation to and from the Statehouse. The application deadline is January 10, 2020. If students have participated in previous programs they are eligible to reapply each year. Registration will begin at the Indiana Statehouse promptly at 8:30 a.m., and the program will dismiss at 3:30 p.m. Home-schooled students are also eligible to apply. A comprehensive schedule for the day will be set as the program date approaches based on the volume of applicants. Lunch will be provided by Indiana Electric Cooperatives.
